THE ENEBI 2011
The National Meeting of
Biomechanical Engineering is an initiative of the Committee of
Bioengineering ABCM “Brazilian Association of Engineering and
Mechanical Sciences” to promote the integration and exchange of
experiences among the groups working in the area in Brazil. Its
main objective is that geographically dispersed groups across the
country can meet each other and establish alliances to work
together. The first ENEBI was held in May 2007 in the town of Itaipava, Rio de Janeiro and the second edition of the event occurred in Florianopolis, Ingleses Beach, Santa Catarina, Brasil.
In the first edition of ENEBI there were 116 participants, the number of presentations was 49 as oral sessions and 65 as posters. The numbers for the second edition were: 142 participants, 54 papers presented orally and 77 by posters.
The success of this initiative, which was widely accepted by the national academic community, endorsed the need to make
ENEBI a regular event. At the end of the last meeting, the plenary meeting indicated the city of Foz do Iguacu, Parana, to host the second edition of
ENEBI in 2011.
The organization of this new edition of ENEBI is the responsibility of the Group of Bioengineering of the Federal University of Parana.
Considering that the exchanging of experiences is the main purpose of the event, developing works will be accepted with partial results. All the works will be presented and discussed with the scientific community informally and with possible contributions. The participation of undergraduate and postgraduate students, presenting their work, is feedback particularly encouraged. Regarding the multidisciplinary nature of this area of knowledge, professionals and students of biological sciences (medicine, physiotherapy, dentistry etc.) are encouraged to attend the meeting, enriching the discussion of the problems in company with engineers.
